The Privacy Preserving Measurement & Machine Learning team collaborates with various departments across the company to develop state-of-the-art privacy-enhancing technologies for privacy-preserving measurement and machine learning. We are seeking an exceptional candidate to join our esteemed team in this field. We are looking for an experienced on-device machine learning engineer to join our team and help us develop privacy-preserving technologies for measurement and machine learning.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with cross-functional engineers to design and develop end-to-end measurement systems that meet Apple's industry-leading privacy standards.
  • Operate independently to solve complex problems at the intersection of privacy-preserving technology, applied cryptography and machine learning.
  • Develop data processing systems that enable training and evaluation of generative AI systems while preserving user privacy.

Requirements

  • Strong technical background in machine learning and privacy-preserving technologies.
  • Experience in iOS development, particularly in designing privacy-preserving features.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to influence and build consensus.
  • Adaptability to new challenges and systems.
  • Passion for protecting customer privacy.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with differential privacy.
  • Experience with secure multi-party computation.
  • Experience with trusted compute environment.
  • Experience with private federated learning.
  • Experience with training, evaluating, and deploying machine learning models to production.
