About the position

This position is responsible for engaging survivors of commercial sexual exploitation and human trafficking through street outreach, crisis intervention, intake and assessment, facilitation of drop in center hours and services, linkage to ongoing case management services and facilitation of trauma and addiction groups for survivors of human trafficking.

Responsibilities

  • Engage survivors of commercial sexual exploitation and human trafficking through street outreach.
  • Provide crisis intervention and conduct intake and assessment.
  • Facilitate drop-in center hours and services.
  • Link survivors to ongoing case management services.
  • Facilitate trauma and addiction groups for survivors of human trafficking.

Requirements

  • An understanding of and passion for The Salvation Army's Mission.
  • Experience working with victims of traumatic crimes, such as domestic violence and sexual assault.
  • Strong work ethic.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • A positive, contagious 'can-do' attitude.
  • Able to maintain strict confidentiality.
  • Valid Ohio Driver's License and the ability to obtain and maintain driving privileges per Salvation Army insurance standards.

Nice-to-haves

  • Candidates with lived experience with commercial sexual exploitation or human trafficking are strongly encouraged to apply.
  • Bachelor's in Social Work or equivalent is preferred but not required.
  • Experience working with victims of human trafficking is preferred.
