About the position

An electrical apprentice installs, upgrades, renovates and completes other assigned electrical duties to produce the product requested by an owner or general contractor and under direction from a licensed Journeyman.

Responsibilities

  • Installation of electrical wiring, fixtures, and equipment.
  • Measure, cut and bend conduit.
  • Trace out short circuits in wiring.
  • Make minor electrical repairs.
  • Maintain tools and equipment.
  • Work with the Foreman to set daily goals.
  • Performs work in accordance with the National Electrical Code in a workmanlike manner.

Requirements

  • Hold and maintain the state apprentice license.
  • Have an OSHA-10 hour Construction Certification before beginning work on a site or the pre-fabrication workshop.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Attend continuing education classes to maintain apprentice license.

Nice-to-haves

  • Enrollment in/completion of an electrical trade school program.
  • Knowledge of hand/power tools, how to read meters and blueprints.
