About the position

Florida A&M University's School of Business and Industry, Department of Marketing and Management is pleased to announce the acceptance of qualified applications for the Assistant Professor tenure-track vacancy. This is a tenure track position for an Assistant Professor of Marketing. Primary areas of teaching will include Digital Marketing; Marketing Analytics; Services Marketing; Marketing Research; Principles of Advertising International Marketing; Consumer Behavior; Principles of Marketing; and Brand Management. The successful applicant must have a strong background in marketing/business analytics and will develop and conduct research in the areas of marketing; Applicant will fully participate in all activities that support the SBI Academic Programs and FAMU's mission; He/She will assist in the development of courses, contribute to undergraduate and graduate teaching, assists in securing grants and make significant contributions to research, professional activities, committee assignments, and other services that enhance the missions of SBI and FAMU; and, the applicant will also work effectively with SBI's stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Teach courses in Digital Marketing, Marketing Analytics, Services Marketing, Marketing Research, Principles of Advertising, International Marketing, Consumer Behavior, Principles of Marketing, and Brand Management.
  • Develop and conduct research in marketing.
  • Participate in activities that support the SBI Academic Programs and FAMU's mission.
  • Assist in the development of courses.
  • Contribute to undergraduate and graduate teaching.
  • Assist in securing grants.
  • Make significant contributions to research and professional activities.
  • Participate in committee assignments and other services that enhance the missions of SBI and FAMU.
  • Work effectively with SBI's stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Ph.D. from an AACSB accredited institution.
  • Academically qualified as defined by the School of Business and Industry's guidelines.
  • Academic research and teaching experiences preferred.

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Proficient in the use of Canvas and statistical/analytical software such as Stata, SPSS, NLOGIT.
  • Critical thinking and problem solving competence.
  • Strong programming and cognitive attributes.
  • Project management and program design expertise.
  • Ability to use tact and diplomacy when dealing with the needs, problems, and academic concerns of students.
