About the position

The DK Marketing and PR Department seeks an Associate Marketing Manager, Education and Library to join their dynamic team. This position reports to the Director of Education and Library Marketing, and will collaborate in the planning, execution, and evaluation of materials and campaigns for PreK-12 teachers and administrators, college professors, and librarians of all types, including but not limited to advertising, newsletters, and events. This position also provides the opportunity to interface with the entire DK US PR and Marketing team, as well as sales, marketing, publishing, and operations colleagues across the global DK and Penguin Random House organizations.

Responsibilities

  • Brainstorm, coordinate, and execute marketing campaigns and strategy for frontlist and backlist key titles across DK brands, including: DK Learning, Phonic Books, DK flip, Alpha, DK Red, and DK+, and collaborate with marketing peers in the US and UK as appropriate
  • With the support of the marketing director, conduct and share post-mortem analysis of all measurable campaigns to inform future opportunities, providing project conversion data for marketing activations whenever possible
  • Develop and maintain marketing newsletter programs for specific segments of DK's educator and librarian subscribers
  • Execute presentations for seasonal school & library virtual preview webinars
  • Collaborate with sales representatives and PRH Education colleagues to create materials that support their efforts
  • Plan and travel occasionally to education- and library-focused conferences
  • Build relationships and communicate with educators and experts to develop new content for DK's institution-focused websites
  • Maintain awareness of the school and library sectors, as well as competitor initiatives within this space, and suggest new and innovative ways to market
  • Complete administrative tasks as needed

Requirements

  • At least 3-4 years of experience in marketing, with experience in the K-12 school market and interest in the library sector preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including an affinity for copy writing and editing/Americanization, and an emphasis on being detail-oriented
  • Self-motivated with a desire to be a team player as well as work independently
  • Highly organized with an ability to communicate effectively, efficiently, and meet deadlines
  • Strong sense of urgency with an ability to juggle multiple projects in a fast-paced environment and ability to think on your feet and address unexpected challenges
  • Creative individual who enjoys thinking outside of the box
  • Located in the tri-state area with the ability to come into the office twice a week
