Job Summary: The Associate Product Manager is responsible for the development and execution of vendor business plans to increase market share, sales, and profitability and maintaining levels of inventory for assigned vendor line(s) consistent with the business plan that maximize sales, inventory turns, and return on inventory. Job Duties/Essential Functions: Creation, execution and on-going monitoring of vendor marketing/business plans. Monitor actual performance in comparison to the established business plan for each supplier including Sales and GP$ goals and growth of market share. Drive vendor participation in marketing initiatives through 100% utilization of available cooperative marketing funds. Actively work with vendor to uncover sources of additional marketing funds. Facilitate linkage with vendor field sales organizations. Coordinate with ScanSource sales and vendor representatives for any special pricing concessions. This applies to customer specific meets competition pricing as well as blanket special pricing authorizations for specific products. Act as focal point for assigned line(s) on any departmental issues. Maintain an accessible and responsive relationship with ScanSource sales teams. Coordinate asset management of assigned line(s), maintain proper inventory mix and levels, inventory turns, ROI, and order fill-rates. Process daily buys using ScanSource purchasing system. Set up new vendor part numbers. On an on-going basis, update ETAs of outstanding purchase orders. Manage and drive stock rotations on a timely basis. Maintain all system SKU information (column pricing, part notes, price protection). Other duties as assigned. Supervision Given/Received: Direct supervision given from Director of Merchandising or VP. No Direct Reports. Will occasionally make presentations to both vendors and ScanSource Senior Management. Internal & External Contact: This position has daily contact with vendor representatives, sales reps, accounts payable and ScanSource Management. Accountabilities: Job has been performed successfully when goals and objectives have been met and customer and vendor feedback is positive. Experience/Specialized Skills: Demonstrated abilities in the following: Organizational skills Presentation skills Computer skills (MS Office) Negotiation skills Education Requirements: High School/GED. Preferred: Bachelors Degree or 2 or more years of relevant work experience (e.g. technology or distribution). Proficiency in foreign language (Spanish, Portuguese, French, German) SAP Experience Physical Requirements: Ability to sit a computer terminal for long periods of time Ability to be physically in attendance at workstation at designated company office location during normal business hours designated for the position.
