About the position

Boeing Defense, Space & Security is currently seeking an Associate Product Review Engineer to become part of the Commercial Derivative Team in San Antonio, Texas. The Commercial Derivative Product Review Engineer will support all Structural and Electrical items a Liaison Engineering/Design Engineering role is needed to support the Commercial, Military, and Commercial Derivative aircraft fleets on contract for modifications, storage, annual and time based life cycle checks. Platforms being supported will be Executive Transport Fleet comprised of 737,757, and 747. Other airframes are KC-46, 787, 777, KC-135, and B-52.

Responsibilities

  • Applies basic knowledge of Boeing design and/or engineering principles to develop interim or final engineering solutions to product/process issues throughout production and/or for technical, operational and quality issues that cannot be resolved by the customer.
  • Analyzes, conducts failure analysis, root cause analysis and troubleshoots to understand root cause.
  • Provides assistance to identify solutions.
  • Provides written dispositions for routine design non-conformances.
  • Supports activities to identify deviations that could impact design intent and safety and product/process improvements.
  • Develops routine customer correspondence for continued safe operation and maintenance of equipment.
  • Participates in Material Review Boards and Integrated Product Teams (IPTs).
  • Ensures supplier and build partner comply with Boeing standards.
  • Represents the engineering community in the build through post production environment.
  • Recommends simple non-destructive test procedures, tools, standards.
  • Conducts simple static strength analysis to validate interim design repairs meet original design loads criteria.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science.
  • 2+ years of engineering experience or a Masters’ degree.
  • Ability to work variable shifts; including days, evenings, nights and weekends.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally for 20% of the time.

Nice-to-haves

  • Active US Secret level Security Clearance.
  • Prior experience supporting Commercial, Military, and Commercial Derivative aircraft programs.
