We have an exciting opportunity for a Autonomous Control Software Systems Engineer to join the team with HX5, a teammate company. We are actively searching for qualified candidates for this potential opening; however, we do not have assurance at this time when the position will be finalized and opened. Because we have strong reason to believe the position will be approved soon, we are proceeding with identifying qualified candidates and conducting interviews.

Responsibilities

  • Understands complex systems, including failure modes and interfaces
  • Able to apply model-based systems engineering best practices to developing models of systems
  • Experienced with FMEAs, FMECAs, fault trees, or other fault management design and analysis tools
  • Perform other duties as required

Requirements

  • Typically requires a minimum of a bachelor's degree in Engineering
  • Normally possess 5-10 years of related experience
  • Experience with modeling complex cyber-physical systems
  • Experience with risk assessments, fault/failure analysis, redundancy and fault tolerance, system health management techniques, prognosis, or fault management frameworks or technologies
  • Strong dynamics background
  • Experience with mechanical and electrical systems
  • Excellent communication, negotiation and coordination skills and strong customer service attitude

Nice-to-haves

  • Avionics and Software Architecture
  • NASA software and systems development standards
  • Proficiency with C/C++ coding
  • Proficiency with Linux
  • Proficiency with scripting languages such as Python
