About the position

The AVP of Marketing is responsible for the development and execution of US marketing programs in line with established strategic brand and divisional goals. The AVP has overall responsibility for the haircare category vision for the next 1-3 years and achieving the annual budget plan as well as the growth of the brand within the haircare category across all channels: SalonCentric, Ulta, Amazon, D2C. The AVP will interface with departments such as: business development, finance, education, brand engagement, creative, labs, Media, International marketing teams and Executive Management. The AVP will lead the Redken Haircare Team: manage and develop a team of cross functional marketing members with responsibilities spanning traditional brand marketing, media, advocacy and influence, digital/social, trade marketing and in store merchandising.

Responsibilities

  • Execution and development of clear brand building plans in line with the objectives of the division including: 3 year marketing plan, new product launches, promotions and communication strategy.
  • Manage forecasts, pricing, sku rationalization, brand P&L, stock inventory for promotional activities and product launches.
  • Prepare and deliver presentations to management, sales and distributor teams.
  • Interface with key salons, stylists and distributors for understanding of market needs, trends and competitor activities.
  • Conduct marketing research, follow up on campaigns and launches, and provide Senior Management team with regular quantitative and qualitative reports.

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in Marketing or related field.
  • Minimum 10-15 years of experience successfully guiding strategic marketing, branding, and product management.
  • Expertise and appreciation of the Prestige Professional Beauty Industry is ideal.
  • Exceptional financial acumen required including experience with budgeting and P&L management.
  • Strategic thinker and effective communicator at all levels of the organization.
  • Proven leadership skills including the ability to lead, motivate, and develop team members.
  • Demonstrated ability to build collaborative relationships across functional areas of the business enabling the successful achievement of initiatives across all brand categories.
  • Understanding of the digital ecosystem including media, CRM, ecommerce and content.
  • Superior leadership and communication skills. Need to be able to articulate clear business direction and strategies. Also, to liaise between different departments, participate in senior level management discussions and facilitate the creative process at all levels.
  • Ability to travel domestically periodically (25%).
