About the position
Tryton TC is a specialized IT staffing firm connecting top-tier talent with leading organizations across industries, with a focus on healthcare, life sciences, and enterprise technology. All roles are W2 hourly positions with access to benefits, including health insurance. We are currently seeking a skilled Backend Engineer with expertise in Java, Spring Boot, cloud platforms, and microservices architecture. This role involves building scalable APIs, deploying services on GCP, and automating CI/CD pipelines in a modern DevOps environment.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain backend microservices using Java and Spring Boot
- Build and integrate APIs (GraphQL and REST) for scalable service communication
- Deploy and manage services on Google Cloud Platform (GKE)
- Work with Google Cloud Spanner (Postgres dialect) and pub/sub tools like Confluent Kafka (or similar)
- Automate CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions and Argo CD
Requirements
- 5+ years of backend development experience with Java and Spring Boot
- 2+ years of experience working with APIs (GraphQL and REST) in microservices architectures
- 2+ years of hands-on experience with cloud platforms such as GCP, AWS, or Azure
- 2+ years of experience working with pub/sub tools like Kafka or similar
- 2+ years of experience with relational databases (Postgres or similar)
- 2+ years of experience with CI/CD tools such as GitHub Actions, Jenkins, Argo CD, or similar
Nice-to-haves
- Hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform
- Familiarity with Kubernetes concepts; experience deploying services on GKE is a plus
- Strong understanding of microservice best practices and distributed systems
