About the position

The Brand Marketing Manager position at the University of Denver is responsible for identifying and executing opportunities to enhance the university's brand reputation among various audiences. Responsibilities

  • Develop, distribute and optimize marketing toolkits to support faculty and staff in representing DU.
  • Manage MarComm swag inventory and source products for marketing campaigns.
  • Identify opportunities for DU brand involvement such as sponsorships and partnerships.
  • Collaborate with campus partners to generate excitement for DU's signature events.
  • Shape experiences and gather quality brand content throughout the year.
  • Oversee execution of brand marketing activations and coordinate with MarComm teams.
  • Monitor peer institutions' brand marketing for trends and creative approaches.
  • Create and execute an annual content marketing strategy to extend DU's brand reach.
  • Leverage capabilities across departments to curate compelling stories.
  • Serve as primary steward of DU's brand in marketing copy and collateral.
  • Identify and execute distribution strategies for collaborative storytelling projects.
  • Ensure marketing best practices are implemented in amplified stories.
  • Maintain the university-wide proof point library and establish SOPs for content dissemination.
  • Oversee the social media team and strategy to engage target audiences.
  • Serve as lead project manager for brand marketing projects.
  • Draft strategic briefs to assist team members with project goals.
  • Coordinate work of cross-functional teams and vendors for high-quality deliverables.
  • Track KPIs and provide reporting on engagement and impact of content.
  • Provide guidance and feedback to direct reports.

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
  • At least 5 years of experience in a marketing and/or content strategy role.
  • Excellent writing and grammar skills, with clear communication abilities.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experiential and/or guerrilla marketing activation experience.
  • Experience planning and executing strategic marketing campaigns.
  • Experience creating written content for marketing purposes.
  • Project management certification.
  • Experience in or understanding of the higher education industry.
  • Supervisory experience.
