About The Position

As the flagship higher education institution of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Brigham Young University (BYU) strives to be among the exceptional universities in the world. At BYU, we are devoted to our faith and to our students. We take an active role in the University's Mission: "To assist individuals in their quest for perfection and eternal life.” Our unique mission, deeply rooted in the Gospel of Jesus Christ, provides countless ways to serve and make an impact. This, along with our remarkable culture of belonging, weekly devotionals, and endless opportunities for learning and growth—all situated within a beautiful and historic campus—make it hard to imagine a more inspiring place to work. Brigham Young University strongly prefers to hire faithful members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The Built4Life Development Coordinator leads the design and delivery of comprehensive personal, leadership, and life-skills programming that prepares BYU student-athletes for success during competition and beyond graduation. This role develops scalable curriculum aligned with Built4Life pillars, facilitates workshops, leadership cohorts, service opportunities, and mentorship experiences, and provides proactive one-on-one development focused on character, resilience, life readiness, and leadership growth. Using data from the Built4Life Hub and Individual Experience Plans (IXP), the coordinator implements a student-informed, outcomes-driven approach to programming, tracks engagement and impact, and provides strategic reporting to leadership. The position collaborates with campus and athletics partners to strengthen culture and community, manages a structured mentor network, supervises student assistants, and contributes to a welcoming, high-impact environment that supports the holistic development of all student-athletes. Be an integral part of BYU history and our rich tradition of winning. On the cusp of Big 12 Conference entry, never has there been a better opportunity for BYU to tell its story on the biggest stages, and you can be a part of that. We need someone who understands BYU’s distinctive mission and vision, with the gospel of Jesus Christ as its essential foundation. We need someone who cares deeply about the individual successes and challenges of our 600+ student-athletes and 21 teams. We need someone who strives for excellence in all they do, and who can thrive in a dynamic, challenging and incredibly rewarding environment. We want someone who can bring their own unique and diverse lived experiences to help develop and enhance the sense of belonging for all within BYU Athletics as we strive to work together as one team.
