About the position

Peraton is looking to hire a Software Engineer to provide war-fighters with reliable strike planning and execution tools for Theater Missile Programs while modernizing and expanding beyond Tomahawk missiles. Our work includes developing and maintaining proprietary software, offering full life-cycle support from design to deployment, and ensuring compliance with cybersecurity standards. This position is located on-site in Santa Clara, CA. The software engineer will work as part of the Intelligence Situation Awareness Tool (ISAT) team on the Theater Mission Planning Center (TMPC) program. The ISAT is a Tactical Data Processor (TDP) which supports multiple missions primarily for the US Navy. It receives, processes, transmits, and displays tactical data in a variety of formats, and provides a rich set of analysis tools to help operators see the big picture.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in all phases of software development, including requirements analysis, design, code, test and documentation
  • Learn TMPC ISAT features and functions, including developing an understanding of tactical data
  • Support system integration and regression testing in both classified and unclassified environments
  • Learn program's processes and procedures
  • Contribute to the software quality assurance team to support the development of standards and conventions
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies (e.g., Sprint Planning, Daily Stand-up)
  • Participate in technical exchange meetings, product demonstrations and training with the customers

Requirements

  • Education: 5 years with BS/BA; 3 years with MS/MA; or 9 years experience in lieu of a degree
  • Must have experience with C#
  • Working knowledge of C++
  • Working experience with Visual Studio or equivalent development tools
  • Knowledgeable about relational databases such as MSFT SQL Server or PostGreSQL
  • Practical familiarity with microservices, Kubernetes, Docker, or OpenShift
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products
  • Operational familiarity with configuration management tools, including Azure DevOps
  • Understanding of DoD security requirements, including STIGs (Security Technical Implementation Guides), and cybersecurity best practices
  • Excellent communication and strong analytical skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
  • Able to travel within CONUS and OCONUS
  • Possess an active SECRET clearance or the ability to obtain one

Nice-to-haves

  • Military background in command and control, communication, computers, intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (C4ISR)
  • Mathematics background and algorithm development
  • Knowledgeable about Static Code Analysis (SCA) tools such as SonarQube and Fortify
