Class A CDL Delivery Driver

About the position

The delivery driver will transfer products, goods, and other merchandise from one location to another. This role involves driving company vehicles to deliver lumber, building materials, hardware, and other supplies to customers' homes, construction sites, or places of business. The driver is responsible for collecting payments, verifying order details, and maintaining customer relations while ensuring compliance with safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Drives company vehicles to deliver lumber, building materials, hardware, and other supplies.
• Collects payment from customers on COD orders and records customer information.
• Verifies order details and obtains customer signature on delivery ticket.
• Uses navigation tools to locate delivery addresses efficiently.
• Records all pertinent delivery information for accurate tracking.
• Collects and organizes required paperwork for delivery activities.
• Acts as a customer service liaison and resolves customer complaints.
• Informs management of any customer complaints or requests.
• Collects or picks up empty containers and unsold merchandise.
• Loads vehicle safely and accurately.
• Maintains cleanliness of delivery vehicles.
• Performs routine safety checks on vehicles.
• Assists in the yard and warehouse with stocking and organizing materials.
• Assists customers with loading materials and product questions.
• Complies with all company safety standards and laws.
• Operates a forklift.
• Attends store meetings and training sessions.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Ability to drive safely.
• Ability to use navigation tools such as GPS and maps.
• Ability to plan delivery routes.
• Ability to maintain basic logs and records.
• Ability to follow instructions without constant supervision.
• Professional and courteous demeanor.
• Ability to adjust vehicle controls quickly and accurately.
• Must be 23 years of age or older.
• Must complete all company training and certification requirements.

Nice-to-haves
