About the position

Clinical Coaches at The Manor provide direct support to clients and report to the clinical & medical team. Clinical Coaches play a critical role in the multidisciplinary team by mentoring, monitoring, and assisting our clients. Coaches are responsible for monitoring and documenting activities of clients and implementing the program schedule in accordance with The Manor’s policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct support to clients through all stages of treatment, from stabilization to discharge.
  • Successfully communicate and implement daily schedules for clients.
  • Observe, document, and report on clients’ behavioral patterns, client questions, and/or concerns.
  • Observe and monitor medication pass, assist clients in selecting appropriate PRN medications based on indications in EMR, screen clients’ vital signs prior to giving medications, assist clients in obtaining appropriate medication information when requested, documenting medication administration accurately.
  • Assist with intake process, including searching client's personal belongings with client permission.
  • Support medical team in obtaining vitals, screen clients with CIWA/COWS tools while undergoing stabilization phase of treatment.
  • Assist in completing required forms with clients, such as release of information, recurring reports, outcome measurements, and medication consents.
  • Collect, document, and report on urine drug screens and breathalyzer testing.
  • Provide transportation to clients in facility vehicles, within the scope of daily operations.
  • Maintain and update accurate records of client related data in the electronic medical record within required documentation timeframes and in accordance with treatment plans and goals.
  • Maintain a visible presence at the facility and observe patient activity as a representative of the treatment staff.
  • Maintain high standards of ethical and professional conduct and adhere strictly to confidentiality requirements.
  • Comply with Manor’s procedures, maintain healthy work culture, and establish a therapeutic milieu.
  • Help keep a clean and safe environment for clients and staff members by adhering to established standards of hygiene and universal infection control.
  • Participate in WI state-required and internal continuing education.
  • Other tasks as assigned.

Requirements

  • Ability to appropriately communicate with clients and co-workers about abstinence-based recovery in accordance with The Manor’s philosophy.
  • Willingness to understand and speak in a positive light about abstinence-based recovery programs, including 12-step, SMART Recovery, Dharma Recovery, etc.
  • Perform job duties in a manner consistent with The Manor’s treatment goals and expectations, which includes abstinence-based recovery only.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate with clients and co-workers to expedite treatment for each client.
  • Willingness to maintain healthy work culture and resolve conflict with the support of the Program Director.
  • Expectation to communicate with Manor staff when required and necessary.
  • Ability to adapt to changes, prioritize tasks, and manage unexpected challenges.
  • Ability to recognize professional limits and seek guidance when needed.
  • Maintain professionalism, confidentiality, and professional standards.
  • Commitment to cultural competency and diversity.
  • Arrives at work/meetings on time, ensures work responsibilities are covered when absent.

Nice-to-haves

  • 2 years of direct experience working in an addiction treatment program preferred; experience working in a residential substance use program strongly preferred.
  • Experience with abstinence-based recovery programs preferred, including 12-step, SMART Recovery, or Dharma Recovery.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel).
