About the position

This position is for an Advanced Practice Nurse (APN) within the Federal system, requiring a graduate or higher-level degree in nursing from an accredited program. The role involves providing direct and comprehensive primary, preventive, and therapeutic medical and nursing care to patients. Applicants must have a current, active, full, and unrestricted license as a professional nurse and may need additional licensure depending on the specialty area. The position is open from January 8, 2025, to December 31, 2025, and is available in multiple locations including Fort Hall, ID, Salem, OR, Warm Springs, OR, Nespelem, WA, Omak, WA, and Toppenish, WA.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care and treatment plans.
• Monitor health and wellness, treating acute or chronic illnesses.
• Compile and track health histories of patients.
• Provide emergency services or crisis intervention.
• Focus on primary and preventive healthcare for patients of all ages.

Requirements

• Graduate or higher-level degree in nursing from an accredited program.
• Current, active, full, and unrestricted license as a professional nurse.
• At least one year of professional nursing experience equivalent to the next lower grade level in the Federal service.
• Experience in a specialty area of nursing may be required for higher grade levels.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN).
• Specialization in Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) or other nursing specialties.
