About the position
This position is responsible for the daily activities and upkeep of the Import 2 facility. The work schedule is Sunday-Thursday from 7:00 am to 3:00 pm, subject to change based on production needs. The successful candidate(s) must be willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without reasonable accommodation.
Responsibilities
- Grading eggs which consist of observing shell color and texture, external characteristics such as size of yolk and size of egg.
- Maintain farm upkeep: weekly, monthly, quarterly, annual tasks.
- Process/vaccinate birds.
- Feeds and waters birds in accordance to schedule.
- Walks floors daily to examine birds for signs of illness or injury and treats according to instructions; pick up and dispose of mortality.
- Collect data, which includes but is not limited to weighing birds and/or feed and recording data.
- Remove used litter from houses; clean & disinfect poultry houses & all equipment.
Requirements
- Must be willing to sign an agreement to avoid any avian species (chickens, ducks, birds, etc.).
- Must be willing to sign and abide by the Company Biosecurity and Company Animal Welfare Guidelines.
- Must use safe lifting techniques and be able to lift and/or move up to 80 pounds.
- Ability to work on wet, slippery surfaces and in hot, dry, dusty, wet and cold environments.
