About the position

The CTE Business/Marketing Teacher and Suspension Re-Entry position is a one-year leave replacement role at Talley Sr. High School. The position is full-time (1.0 FTE) and follows a 180-day calendar as per the REA and RSD work calendars. The role requires candidates to hold or be eligible for Washington State Career and Technical Education Teacher Certification with the appropriate endorsement. The school is looking for individuals who are inspired by their mission and values of service, excellence, and equity, and who are motivated to make a positive impact on students' lives through education.

Responsibilities

  • Teach business and marketing courses as part of the Career and Technical Education program.
  • Support students in their re-entry process after suspension.
  • Develop and implement lesson plans that align with state standards.
  • Assess student performance and provide feedback to support their learning.
  • Foster an inclusive classroom environment that values diversity.

Requirements

  • Hold or be eligible for Washington State Career and Technical Education Teacher Certification with appropriate endorsement.
  • Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in education.
  • Ability to engage and motivate students from diverse backgrounds.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience working with students who have faced disciplinary actions.
  • Background in business or marketing education.
  • Familiarity with CTE program standards and practices.
