This role supports the development and operations of New Glenn, a single-configuration, heavy-lift orbital launch vehicle capable of routinely carrying people and payloads to low-Earth orbit, geostationary transfer orbit, cislunar, and beyond. Its first stage is fully reusable, and the vehicle was designed from the beginning to be human-capable. As Director of the Integrated Product Leads Team for the New Glenn second stage, you'll lead a dedicated team of Integrated Product Leads responsible for managing the full scope of Engineering Systems and Integration (ESI). This work spans system design, development, testing, and recurring upper stage operations. In this pivotal role, you'll help define strategic direction and align your team's focus with Blue Origin's ambitious goals. In this highly impactful leadership role, you will drive people management, process improvement, and program execution to ensure our upper stage program objectives are met. You will actively collaborate with design, systems engineering, manufacturing, test, launch operations, and other partner teams to achieve program goals. You will foster a climate of trust, adaptability, and operational excellence while motivating your team to deliver results and overcome challenges. You will be responsible for establishing and evolving standard processes and practices in project management, team development, and performance management. You'll provide guidance and mentorship to your team enabling them to make sound decisions in a dynamic environment and support their growth through mentoring, constructive feedback, and clear paths for advancement.

Responsibilities

  • Report to Sr. director and take ownership of project management for ESI deliverables, integrated scheduling, and budget oversight.
  • Set clear, measurable, and strategic goals for the team and track progress toward achieving them.
  • Manage, mentor, and develop the Integrated Product Lead team.
  • Identify, communicate, and mitigate ESI programmatic risks and opportunities.
  • Communicate status, critical paths, and recommended solutions to director-level and executive leadership.
  • Drive process improvements for technical program management, scheduling, budget, and cross-functional execution.
  • Collaborate with systems engineering, design, manufacturing, and test organizations to ensure successful system design, validation, and verification.
  • Promote a safe, ethical, and transparent working environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science or equivalent experience in Engineering or relevant technical field.
  • 15+ years of engineering or technical program management experience, with 10+ years in project, program, or team leadership roles.
  • Proven experience leading teams and processes in a fast-paced, high-stakes environment.
  • Strong strategic mentality with the ability to plan, prioritize, and align team activities with organizational goals.
  • Effectively communicate across all levels of the organization.
  • Consistent track record of achieving results in manufacturing, production, or test settings (preferably in aerospace).
  • Ability to operate, make decisions, lead, and make forward progress in complex and ambiguous environments.
  • Experience with systems engineering principles, requirement management, and validation/verification processes.
  • Experience with Earned Value Management (EVM).
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

Nice-to-haves

  • Advanced degree or equivalent experience in Engineering, Aerospace.
  • Master of Business Administration or MS in Engineering Management.
  • Direct experience with launch vehicle or space system integration and testing.
  • Progressively responsible experience in technical or project management roles in aerospace or related high-reliability industries.
  • Experience across multiple portions of the product life cycle (design, analysis, manufacturing, integration, and test).
  • Experience with scheduling and project management tools (such as Primavera P6, MS Project), and data management software (Confluence, Jira, Tableau, SQL).
  • Project Management Professional (PMP), Six Sigma Black Belt, and/or Lean Manufacturing Certifications.
