About the position

The Director, Performance Measurement will be tasked with creating and executing a performance measurement framework that is visualized and disseminated across the Marketing & Growth Organization to operationalize best practices and successes. This role will also be responsible for evaluating current reporting infrastructure and external measurement partners, determining report and partner effectiveness. This Director will establish a recurring reporting and presentation cadence within the Marketing & Growth Organization, communicating marketing performance and data-driven insights working in close coordination with campaign, product, and channel analytics teams. By standardizing performance measurement methods and centralizing reporting cross-functionally throughout the Organization, the Director, Performance Measurement will provide transparency and accountability into strategy and planning and infuse data-driven efficiency into all marketing initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Standing up a performance measurement function within Marketing operations to provide transparency into MGO activities and distill (campaign) efficiency and effectiveness
  • Creating and executing a measurement framework to evaluate all marketing activities, rooted in KPIs and marketing objectives
  • Developing a standardized reporting methodology to measure performance across marketing channels, investment allocations, campaign spend, and MGO team processes
  • Partnering with key MGO and agency stakeholders to standardize and create synergy among all data and analytics initiatives and serve as the source of truth for marketing data
  • Partnering with the Marketing Technology team to shape MGO's data strategy, providing input as a subject matter expert on data governance, integration, infrastructure, scalability and agility to establish consistency across data and analytics initiatives
  • Evaluating current reporting infrastructure and outputs for MGO from internal and external partners and determining which reports to stop/start/continue
  • Designing reporting dashboards to visualize performance results in a digestible format for an executive audience
  • Partnering with Marketing Operations to establish a recurring read-out cadence with segment marketers and other key executives, reviewing campaign performance, KPI performance compared to forecast
  • Developing process for teams to request new dashboards and outputs from Performance Measurement
  • Communicating findings and insights to relevant MGO stakeholders as a trusted subject matter expert
  • Partnering with Research, Analytics and Measurement to provide channel and media mix optimizations on a post-campaign basis to consistently drive the highest return on marketing investment
  • Collaborating with external measurement partners to consistently deliver detailed and effective measurement, constantly looking for opportunities to innovate and utilize new technologies and industry practices

Requirements

  • In-house experience working with external measurement partners, analyzing inputs and adapting to AT&T reporting methods
  • Experience managing large, complex data sets and distilling actionable insights from them for an executive audience
  • Strong data visualization skillset with experience building dashboards (e.g., Tableau, PowerBI, etc.)
  • Deep knowledge of media and advertising and passion for driving change through compelling data and analytics
  • Exceptional communication skills and ability to work collaboratively and drive alignment across cross-functional teams
  • Experience working with in matrixed organizations and ability to collaborate with non-direct reports to drive change
  • Entrepreneurial spirit and ability to stand up new functions, transform ways-of-working across an enterprise, and infuse new strategic thinking across all levels
