The Director of Athletics is responsible for the administrative operations of the athletics department, including, but not limited to: departmental budget; student-athlete recruitment and retention; sports offerings portfolio, including new athletic programs; department culture; strategic oversight; assessment; compliance, and conference matters; student-athlete experience; fan experience; facilities rentals; game management; and fundraising, including alumni, donor, and sponsorship cultivation. The role involves leading and managing coaches and administrative staff under a framework that supports the institutional vision and values, department goals, and conference philosophy. The Director will cultivate relationships with existing student-athletes through attending home athletic contests, visiting practices, and attending meetings and events. Collaboration with the Office of Institutional Advancement on alumni development, cultivation and stewardship, major gifts, annual fund, and sponsorships is essential. The Director will also review and update the athletics strategic priorities on a routine basis ensuring consistency with the College's Strategic Plan, develop and monitor annual recruitment goals in conjunction with Admissions, assess athletics department staff annually based on established key performance indicators, and collaborate with various offices on academic and programmatic elements. The position includes serving on the President's Cabinet and other responsibilities as assigned.
