About the position

The Director of Sales & Marketing AL/MC is responsible for the strategic planning, execution, and oversight of all sales and marketing initiatives for Assisted Living and Memory Care. This role is responsible for leading efforts to achieve and maintain occupancy targets, drive census growth, and promote brand awareness, while delivering an exceptional customer experience. The Director works closely with the internal sales and admissions teams to ensure alignment and successful move-ins.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement strategic sales and marketing plans to meet or exceed occupancy goals for Assisted Living and Memory Care levels of care.
  • Maintain and grow a strong sales pipeline through lead generation, relationship building, and community outreach.
  • Conduct prospect experiences (tours) and train back up team to process inquiries and conduct experiences as needed.
  • Collaborate with clinical and operations teams to ensure smooth transitions and customer satisfaction.
  • Collaborate with SLMS Regional and community Marketing Agency to develop and execute marketing efforts including digital campaigns, print advertising, events, and community outreach initiatives.
  • Analyze market trends, competitors, and consumer behavior to optimize strategies and positioning.
  • Lead external sales efforts by building and nurturing referral networks with hospitals, physicians, social workers, case managers, and community organizations.
  • Represent the community at professional events, conferences, health fairs, and networking functions.
  • Track sales metrics, referral activity, and outreach performance; provide regular reports to leadership.
  • Work in collaboration with internal sales counselors, clinical liaisons, and admissions personnel to ensure seamless lead hand-off and follow-through.
  • Uphold compliance with all relevant healthcare marketing and referral regulations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, Healthcare Administration, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum 5-7 years of experience in healthcare marketing, sales, or business development, preferably in senior living or post-acute care.
  • Demonstrated success in driving occupancy through relationship-based sales strategies.
  • Strong knowledge of the senior living continuum of care and healthcare referral systems.
  • Excellent interpersonal, presentation, and communication skills.
  • Ability to lead strategy while executing hands-on relationship-building in the field.
  • Proficiency in CRM tools and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
