About the position

Pyramid Global Hospitality is seeking an experienced, entrepreneurial, and hands-on Director of Sales & Marketing to lead the commercial strategy for DellShire Resort, an independent four-star destination resort nestled in the scenic beauty of Wisconsin Dells. This is a rare opportunity to shape and elevate the positioning of a unique property known for its immersive guest experiences, natural surroundings, and Midwestern hospitality. The resort is currently under construction and scheduled to open in Spring 2026. The ideal candidate is a dynamic sales leader with at least five years of experience as a DOSM in a full-service, upscale resort or hotel environment. Independent resort experience is strongly preferred, and candidates with previous Midwest resort experience or relevant pre-opening experience will be prioritized. This role is ideal for a leader who thrives in a non-branded setting and enjoys building relationships, developing strong teams, and driving results across diverse segments.

Responsibilities

  • Lead all sales and marketing efforts across Group, Transient, Leisure, and Event segments to achieve revenue goals.
  • Develop and execute strategic business plans, integrated marketing calendars, and data-driven sales initiatives aligned with the resort's independent identity and growth goals.
  • Oversee digital marketing, paid media, and SEO/SEM strategies to grow brand awareness, drive direct bookings, and optimize conversion.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key accounts, travel planners, and corporate partners; conduct site visits and actively engage in direct sales efforts.
  • Collaborate with operations, revenue, and guest experience teams to create compelling on-property activations, packages, and seasonal campaigns.
  • Analyze market data, STR reports, and industry trends to inform pricing, forecasting, and new business opportunities.
  • Serve as the DellShire brand ambassador at industry trade shows, local events, and tourism associations.
  • Lead a high-performing Sales, Marketing, and Conference Services team - mentoring talent, fostering collaboration, and cultivating a culture of accountability.
  • Partner with external agencies to drive media exposure, creative campaigns, and press coverage that reflect the property's unique story and market position.
  • Actively contribute to community partnerships, tourism initiatives, and civic engagement efforts that reinforce the resort's role in the regional economy.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of experience as a Director of Sales & Marketing in a four-star hotel or resort environment.
  • Prior independent property experience is strongly preferred; Midwest resort experience or pre-opening background is a plus.
  • Demonstrated success leading commercial strategy, developing high-performing teams, and exceeding revenue targets.
  • Strong understanding of digital marketing strategy, guest segmentation, and brand development in the independent resort space.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; Delphi or similar CRM experience highly preferred.
  • Financial acumen, with the ability to analyze data, forecast performance, and deliver results across all sales segments.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with confidence presenting to ownership and senior leadership.
  • Self-motivated, collaborative, and adaptable to the pace and demands of a growing independent resort.
  • Willingness to travel up to 10% as needed for sales missions, trade shows, and industry events.
