About the position

We’re currently looking for a reliable, full-time Product Director who will be responsible for leading the Vertical team for our Absorbents portfolio. New Pig Corporation revolutionized industrial leak and spill management forever with its Pig Original Absorbent Sock in 1985. Since then, we’ve been solving customers’ tough liquid control problems and leading the industry through innovation and expertise. The PIG brand reaches over 300,000 customers in 100 countries on all seven continents. Our continued growth has created an exciting and emerging opportunity for this strategic leadership position. This position requires someone with a solid understanding of and experience setting the product strategy and roadmap, has visibility into functional budget parameters across products within the same portfolio, makes decisions for new product development, product change requests, and existing product management; and makes strategic product optimization and end-of-life recommendations to the Portfolio Review Board.

Responsibilities

  • Develops and implements product line-specific Go-to-Market strategies that align with enterprise objectives and plans
  • Engages the cross-functional (CFT) horizontal team to execute on strategy and is the final arbiter of CFT decisions
  • Has accountability for executing the product plan
  • Optimizes portfolio of offerings with brand/product line
  • Works with functional leads of other teams to allocate resources, prioritize projects, and secure resources for projects
  • Travels to relevant product/industry/trade specific shows to understand best practices, new technologies in the space, etc.
  • Brings on new products and maintains the active product portfolio, including cancellations as needed
  • Regularly reports to executive management on portfolio health and new developments
  • Reviews new product ideas submitted within the organization

Requirements

  • A minimum of five years of experience in product management, preferably in a manufacturing and/or merchandising environment
  • Experience with melt blown and absorbent products will be beneficial
  • Demonstrated competencies in product and project management principles
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills in the areas of conflict resolution, change management, negotiations, and effective listening & communications
  • Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally and develop strong business partner relationships
  • Ability to manage and lead in a fast pace and high change environment
  • Demonstrated ability to make recommendations to executive leadership on complex decisions
  • Bachelor’s degree in business or relevant field of study required, or substantial relevant experience in lieu of formal education
  • Knowledge and experience with ERP systems and process tools
