Job Description


DESCRIPTION
The incumbent manages all activities in marketing. This includes maintaining and soliciting new ridership, informing the public of transit services, increasing public awareness, promoting new programs. The incumbent performs managerial work under the general direction of the VP of Governmental Relations or the Director of Marketing & Communications at the direction of the VP of Governmental Relations. The incumbent supervises a marketing coordinator who assists with community outreach efforts and special events. The incumbent develops, prepares, and administers the marketing annual budget. The incumbent has extensive public contact with other transit agencies and members of the community
This positions responsibilities include:

Coordinates projects with senior management and works independently on setting departmental goals and objectives. Establishes marketing plans and procedures to ensure goal achievement.
Directs the selection of advertising methods and promotional techniques to ensure that they are appropriate and will produce the desired customer response.
Directs staff on coordinating public relations events and initiates contacts in the community to promote transit service.
Supervises the planning and development of fact sheets, news releases, scripts, posters, and other media to ensure that they are consistent with program goals. Monitors the writing and preparation of newsletter, brochures, and other written Supervises the collection, filing, storage, and retrieval of marketing data via a computer system.
Participates in the selection for services of outside research consultants, advertising agencies, photographers, printers, etc.; coordinates work contracted with these consultants and ensures quality service.
Develops, prepares, and administers the annual budget for the marketing department, estimates all costs and analyzes, manages, and monitors Prepares reports and makes presentations before the Executive Committee of the Fort Worth Transportation Authority Board of Directors.
Manages and directly supervises marketing coordinator and agency services.
Represents the FWTA and promotes ridership through the Transit 101 program.
Adheres to brand standards, updating them as needed. Maintain brand identity.





Required Skills


EDUCATION
Graduation from an accredited four year college or university with Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Business, or a closely related field.



Required Experience


EXPERIENCE
Five years of progressively responsible experience in marketing, promotional, and sales work, including planning, administrative, or supervisory work; some experience promoting non-profit or public agency service is beneficial. Must have experience in branding as putting together marketing programs that result in increased ridership.
