About the position
Morris Animal Inn is a family-owned, award-winning pet resort with multiple locations in New Jersey! We specialize in providing top-tier pet lodging, grooming, training, and daycare services. Honored as a NJ Family Business of the Year and recognized as one of the Best Places to Work in NJ, we are a team deeply passionate about the care we provide for dogs and cats. We are now hiring Dog Daycare Counselors at our Montville and Morristown locations. Starting pay rate is $15.50/hour, with additional pay considerations for candidates with relevant professional pet care experience. Our Dog Daycare department is staffed from 7AM to 7PM, Monday through Friday, and from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM on Saturdays and Sundays. Please note that some weekend and holiday availability is required.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and engage in playful group and individual activities for dogs of various breeds and sizes.
- Monitor dog behavior to ensure a safe and enjoyable environment.
- Assist in crafting unique dog enrichment plans.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in all pet and work areas.
- Provide daily updates to pet parents, fostering strong relationships.
- Collaborate with our amazing teams, all dedicated to expert pet care.
Requirements
- Must love and be able to confidently handle dogs of all breeds and sizes.
- Prior experience in dog daycare or boarding facility (preferred, but not required).
- A basic understanding of dog behavior and body language.
- Ability to read and write in English (for documentation, communication, and safety procedures).
- Ability to walk/stand for extended periods of time and lift up to 40 lbs.
- Availability for weekend and holiday shifts.
