About the position

Join the leadership team at the dual-branded AC Hotel and Hyatt House, ideally located near Michigan State University. This dynamic property features 295 guest rooms, 5,000 sq. ft. of meeting and event space, an indoor pool, fitness center, and the signature Toscana Restaurant and Bar. Part of the vibrant Red Cedar Development, the hotel sits within a thriving mixed-use community that includes student housing, market-rate apartments, restaurants, retail space, an assisted living facility, public parks, and direct access to the Lansing River Trail.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver the highest quality of service to our customers at all times.
  • Develop and execute strategies to drive business in both new and existing markets.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with clients and business partners.
  • Guide sales and marketing efforts, including advertising, public relations, and administrative reporting.
  • Lead sales initiatives in alignment with the property's Marketing Plan.
  • Understand and monitor industry trends and the competitive landscape.
  • Analyze financial and market data to support strategic decision-making.
  • Organize, prioritize, and document work to meet key business deadlines.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure a unified and consistent customer experience.

Requirements

  • Prior Director of Sales Experience (3+ years).
  • Prior experience with openings of new hotels preferred.
  • Experience with high volume catering.
  • Prior AC or Hyatt House brand knowledge preferred.
  • Local market knowledge and relationships desirable.
