Electrical Engineer 1 (Entry-Level) - Nuclear (Summer 2026)

About the position

This position will offer you the opportunity to utilize and expand your academic background in Electrical Engineering in a professional position that offers a wide range of interesting and challenging responsibilities. The opportunity will have you teaming up with other engineers and designers involved in nuclear plant electrical systems betterment and associated modifications.

Responsibilities

• Electrical systems design
• Preparation of complex calculations
• Load flow and short circuit analysis
• Power flow analysis
• System Impact analysis
• Cable ampacity calculations
• Preparation of documented design inputs
• Preparation of equipment and material specifications
• Preparation of design reports
• Receive training and mentorship from experienced engineers
• Become involved in power distribution designs
• Preparation of specifications for procurement of major electrical power equipment
• Travel to client and vendor offices for design reviews
• Field verification of designs at plant site locations

Requirements

• BS or MS in Electrical Engineering with a strong academic background in electrical power concepts/power systems analysis
• Understanding of the practical application of electrical engineering and technology
• Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles for technical plans, drawings, and models
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong problem solving skills

Nice-to-haves

• A BS or MS degree from an ABET Engineering Accreditation Commission-approved program
• Internship or work experience in performing power analysis, preferably within the power industry
• Experience performing transient analysis of power systems using software such as ETAP or SKM
