About the position

The Field Airborne Support Team AMT V A&P position at Gulfstream Aerospace Corporation involves performing various technical functions of aircraft maintenance, repair, replacement, and modification of key aircraft components on AOG (Aircraft on Ground) aircraft during road trips and within the Customer Support organization. The role requires the technician to support customers in diagnosing and resolving technical problems with their aircraft, ensuring compliance with internal and FAA inspection and documentation requirements. The position is based in White Plains, NY, and requires 100% travel within the Northeast region to support customers.

Responsibilities

  • Be available on an on-call basis, able to be on site or dispatched on the FAST aircraft within two hours of initial contact.
  • Communicate effectively with customers, scheduling, FAST flight crews, Tech Ops, business office, vendors, Warranty, Field Service Representatives, and Hangar Ops.
  • Act as the single point of contact between Gulfstream and the customer to relay aircraft schedule and return to service expectations.
  • Perform required AOG maintenance and necessary servicing of all aircraft mechanical systems.
  • Work independently to perform assigned maintenance and avionics tasks within quoted or standard CMP time with little or no supervision.
  • Repair, maintain, install, and troubleshoot mechanical and functional components of the aircraft including airframes, engine components, landing gear, electrical components, and control systems.
  • Coordinate with inspection to ensure compliance with internal and FAA inspection and documentation requirements.
  • Establish and maintain a professional working relationship with the customer, providing direct familiarization briefings during road trips.
  • Properly identify and securely store customer property and equipment.
  • Follow standard operating procedures and JSAs when operating ground support equipment.
  • Operate and oversee the use of special support equipment for removal and installation of major components.
  • Order and receive all tooling and materials needed to service AOG aircraft.
  • Arrange shipment of all core units and tooling back to Gulfstream.
  • Identify required advanced troubleshooting techniques for all aircraft models with assistance from Tech Ops.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • 8 years aviation maintenance experience (avionics, electrical, and/or mechanical) including 4 years of relevant Gulfstream aircraft experience.
  • A&P (FAA Airframe and Powerplant) license required.
  • Valid Driver's License required.
  • Ability to obtain a Passport required.
  • Advanced knowledge of inspection and maintenance procedures for various aircraft models and systems.
  • Advanced knowledge of pertinent technical reference materials (maintenance manuals, IPCs, Service Bulletins, structural repair manuals, engineering drawings, ADS, etc.).
  • Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
