About the position

The position involves providing holistic patient care by considering physical, psychosocial, emotional, age-specific, cultural, and spiritual factors. The role requires critical thinking skills to gather and analyze patient information, implement interventions, and develop individualized care plans. The nurse will participate in interdisciplinary teams, ensuring quality patient outcomes and customer satisfaction. Responsibilities include patient education, effective communication, managing team members, and maintaining compliance with health regulations. The nurse must also engage in professional development and quality improvement activities.

Responsibilities

  • View patients holistically and demonstrate appropriate assessment skills.
  • Provide critical thinking skills by gathering and analyzing patient information.
  • Develop, implement, evaluate, and revise individualized plans of care.
  • Identify patient and family education needs and develop teaching plans.
  • Participate effectively as a member of the interdisciplinary team.
  • Prevent hospital-acquired conditions and ensure patient safety.
  • Meet customer service needs and promote patient satisfaction.
  • Communicate patient status and interventions effectively.
  • Manage team members to provide care for a group of patients.
  • Organize and prioritize workload around patient and unit needs.
  • Steward available resources effectively.
  • Identify personal education and professional growth needs.
  • Participate in quality improvement and evidence-based practice activities.
  • Maintain confidentiality of patient and hospital information.
  • Assume responsibility for job duties in a safe manner.

Requirements

  • Graduation from an accredited nursing program.
  • Current Nursing License in the state of practice.
  • Active BLS certification.
  • Minimum of two years of recent clinical experience.
  • Knowledge of nursing theory, practice, and age-specific needs.
  • Interpersonal skills to maintain collegial and therapeutic relationships.
  • Critical thinking skills necessary for job responsibilities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a collaborative, shared leadership environment.

Nice-to-haves

  • BSN preferred.
  • Credentials required per specialty area (e.g., ACLS, TNCC).
