About the position

Toyota Connected's TechOps team builds tools that empower developers to move fast, build confidently, and deliver world-class software. We're seeking a Full Stack Software Engineer to join our growing Developer Experience team. You'll design and build internal tools, APIs, frameworks, and backend services that improve developer workflows, CI/CD pipelines, code quality automation, and platform observability.

Responsibilities

  • Build robust and scalable software with Python, Node, React, and Typescript that optimize the developer experience
  • Develop and improve tools that support CI/CD, testing, local developer environments, and observability
  • Design APIs and internal services that are intuitive, reliable, and well-documented
  • Collaborate with other developers to identify pain points and build solutions that streamline engineering workflows
  • Instrument systems with metrics and logging to measure usage, latency, and reliability of Developer Experience tools
  • Partner with Platform Engineering, SRE, and Security teams to ensure tools are secure and scalable
  • Advocate for best practices in software engineering, automation, and platform engineering
  • Develop and maintain documentation, best practices, and ethical guidelines for projects

Requirements

  • 3+ years of professional software engineering experience
  • Experience writing clean, concise, tested, and maintainable code in Python
  • Proficient in React with the ability to build and troubleshoot UIs within a full stack application
  • Experience with API development
  • Experience with public cloud technologies (AWS, GCP or Azure)
  • Experience working in a team oriented, Agile software engineering environment
  • Ability to learn and apply new technologies, programming practices, patterns, and methods
  • Experience with modern architectures, CI/CD practices, containerization, and/or related competencies within the engineer's discipline
  • Demonstrates advanced problem-solving, troubleshooting, decision making skills
  • Ability to work independently and take ownership of tasks/assignments
  • Organized and detail-oriented
  • Ability to develop healthy working relationships and collaborate with peers and leaders
  • Exhibits integrity and high standards in work quality
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
