About the position

Abnormal Security is looking for a Fullstack Software Engineer to join the Premium Email Products (PEP) team. The PEP team builds & operates Abnormal’s AI Security Mailbox and Search & Respond products. Our objective is to automate the SOC team’s workflows by providing them with reliable, intuitive, and delightful products that give them time back in their day. This is a full stack team which is responsible for all the layers - stretching from the database layer and bubbling all the way up to the UI. The ideal candidate will have worked across the stack and has in depth knowledge about frontend and backend development.

Responsibilities

  • Design and execute software projects which are critical to Abnormal’s success with a group of engineers, through conception, design, implementation, launch & operation.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship for junior members of the team.
  • Collaborate with Technical Program Managers, Product Managers, Go-ToMarket teams in order to implement, verify and iterate on the issues & requests coming from our customers.
  • Raise the bar of excellence in engineering, actively contributing to knowledge sharing within the team and participating in professional development activities.
  • Hit the ground running contributing to the teams work in the first two weeks.

Requirements

  • BS degree in Computer Science, Applied Sciences, Information Systems or other related engineering field
  • 3+ years of industry experience designing & building fullstack software applications
  • Expert in React, Redux, JS/Typescript
  • Intermediate+ Python and/or Go skills
  • Experience building features & components from scratch and operating them, balancing feature development work with operational tasks
  • Open to following pre-established guidelines, coding practices and conventions
  • Experience working with distributed teams, proficient in asynchronous and written communication
  • You’re growth driven & looking to increase impact & responsibility over time
  • You’re able to leverage AI Developer tools such as Copilot or Cursor in your daily workflow.

Nice-to-haves

  • Familiarity with our stack: AWS, K8s, Django, Postgres/MySQL, Prometheus
  • Familiarity with AWS services and deployment practices.
  • Experience working with LLM powered tools and AI assistants
  • Knowledge of containerization
  • Experience with distributed systems.
