About the position

We are looking for Universal Personal Advisors (Tellers) who value great hours and pay. $17.81 to $23.07/hr depending on experience and qualifications, with the opportunity to earn sales incentives in addition to wage. This full-time position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the financial well-being of our members. As a Personal Advisor 1,2 or 3, you will process financial transactions, provide expert product recommendations, and resolve account inquiries. Your role will center on guiding members through our wide range of financial services, including assisting with their lending needs such as loan recommendations and applications. You'll also be responsible for maintaining ancillary product sales and consistently meeting monthly sales goals, empowering members to achieve their financial goals while building lasting relationships with the credit union.

Responsibilities

  • Attendance: Punctuality and consistent presence are essential to ensuring members receive timely service. Physical presence on site is required.
  • Professionalism: Be the welcoming face of our Credit Union. Always project a friendly, professional demeanor to members, coworkers, board members, and visitors.
  • Member Service: Efficiently handles a variety of member service transactions (in-person, inbound, outbound and digitally), including deposits, withdrawals, account maintenance, and cross offers.
  • Build Relationships & Cross-Offer: Develop strong, meaningful relationships with members by understanding their financial needs. Actively cross-sell products and services that align with their goals.
  • Advise Members: Serve as an advisor, providing guidance on how members can best use our services.
  • Application Assistance & Data Verification: Assist members with product and service applications, explaining the process, verifying necessary documentation, and making sure everything is accurate.
  • Cash Handling: Maintain and balance cash drawers, ensuring accuracy and security in all transactions.
  • Transactions: Has proven mastery of basic or common member service transactions and is introduced to more complex transactions.
  • Sales: Consistently meets sales goals by cross selling credit union products and services.
  • Compliance & Confidentiality: Follow all policies and regulations, including but not limited to, Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) and Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC).
  • Office Duties: Assist with general administrative tasks, such as filing, data input, answering phones, and other routine office activities.
  • Training & Mentorship: Assist in training new employees as necessary and stay up to date with ongoing training.
  • Team Collaboration: Work cooperatively with colleagues to support team goals and maintain a positive work environment.
  • Other Duties: Perform additional duties as assigned by managers or supervisors.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or G.E.D. required.
  • 1-3 years of experience in customer service or retail sales environment preferred.
  • 2 years of financial institutional experience preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret business documents, professional journals, and governmental regulations.
  • Capable of writing/understanding business correspondence and procedure manuals.
  • Confident in presenting information to managers, employees, and members.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide.
  • Capable of calculating interest rates, ratios, and percentages.
  • Strong judgment, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Must be bondable and maintain bondability throughout employment.
  • Personal computer applications knowledge and skills to include Microsoft Office.
  • Comfortable typing and using computer applications for member service and sales purposes.

Nice-to-haves

  • Completion of Phase 1 & Phase 2 accounts and lending training, preferred.
