Responsibilities

  • Conceptualizes, plans, designs, and produces a wide range of specialized graphic and/or illustrative material, to include multimedia concepts and signage.
  • Creates visually and emotionally engaging content for various audiences that reflect and elevates the ZooTampa brand.
  • Plans production schedules for design projects, develops project budgets and oversees workflow.
  • Identifies, selects, and coordinates vendors and contractors for printing and publication services and for additional graphic design, photography, and videography assistance.
  • Oversees and coordinates the graphic production process, including selecting appropriate materials and inspecting proofs for accuracy.
  • Works with the Director of Brand Management to maintain the Zoo's visual DNA and brand profile.
  • Develops and execute on a plan to increase ZooTampa app downloads, continuously delivers new and engaging content, and maximizes the utilization of digital sales tools.
  • Stay up to date on latest digital marketing tools, strategies, and technologies.
  • Analyze, interpret, and report digital and product metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of campaigns.
  • Oversee ZooTampa website, from development and hosting to design and content.
  • Oversee SEO and SEM efforts and communicate SEO / SEM goals to relevant team members and agencies.
  • Manage various outside service vendors including marketing agencies, video production teams, and web developers.
  • Manage paid search, Google Ads, and Google Grant campaigns based on financial targets and marketing initiatives.
  • Monitor and report on competitor digital marketing initiatives.
  • Provides technical advice and guidance, and serves as liaison with production personnel, outside designers, clients, and/or printing representatives on design and technical graphics issues.
  • Participates in production and/or marketing planning group sessions and meetings, on a project basis.
  • Maintains a graphics and photographic library.
  • Work closely with the Marketing team to ensure consistency with brand/style guide execution.
  • Coordinate and participate in committee meetings, special events, fundraisers, and other marketing functions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in graphic design, graphic arts, advertising, digital marketing or related field.
  • Three to five years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Demonstrates a thorough understanding of digital marketing as well as the principles of art, composition, digital graphic design.
  • Excellent proficiency and experience in Microsoft Office, CRM, business analytics and reporting tools as well as Adobe Creative Suite to include Photoshop and Illustrator.
  • Demonstrated knowledge in HTML, CSS, and WordPress version control, staging and sandbox environments.
  • Thorough knowledge and experience with web standards and best practices, including web accessibility standards, SEO and page optimization.
  • Experience managing mobile apps, including content creation and content management.
  • Strong organization, project and time management skills.
  • Ability to think logically and solve problems diplomatically with minimal guidance.
  • Ability to work in weather conditions typical to west central Florida (i.e., heat, rain, or cold).
  • Must be able to work in a variety of physical positions, including sitting, bending, standing, and walking for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to use radio, phone, and computer to communicate and follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Must be able to work varied and long shifts including evenings, holidays, and weekends.
