About the position

We are seeking an experienced IT Software Engineer to support and lead application maintenance and support coordination with a vendor-managed service. This role focuses on vendor governance, SLA oversight, and ensuring consistent performance across supported applications. While not a development-heavy role, a strong technical foundation is essential to evaluate solutions, manage priorities, and uphold engineering standards. The ideal candidate also brings an architect-level mindset, contributing to technology roadmaps and medium-term planning—not just maintaining existing systems, but actively looking for ways to evolve them to better support the business over the next 3–5 years.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the relationship with a vendor-managed service for application maintenance and support, ensuring compliance with internal standards and SLAs.
  • Monitor vendor performance, facilitate issue resolution, and drive continuous improvement across services.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between internal teams and vendor partners, coordinating priorities and reviewing support outcomes.
  • Establish and enforce governance processes, ensuring service delivery meets business needs and security standards.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business requirements into actionable items for vendors.
  • Evaluate vendor-delivered technical solutions and assist in resolving escalated or complex issues.
  • Contribute to small-scale development tasks, documentation, and tooling that enhance support efficiency.
  • Participate in Agile planning to ensure vendor work aligns with internal timelines and priorities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field (advanced degree a plus).
  • Minimum of 3 years of IT experience, with a focus on vendor coordination, application support, or service delivery.
  • Strong understanding of cloud platforms (e.g., Azure) and DevOps tools (e.g., Azure DevOps).
  • Experience managing third-party vendors and support operations.
  • Solid grasp of IT service management practices and SLA frameworks.
  • Ability to assess technical issues and collaborate with both technical and business teams.
  • Familiarity with Agile development practices.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Microsoft PowerApps and SharePoint is a plus.
  • Working knowledge of code (e.g., Java, .NET, Ruby on Rails) is helpful but not required.

Benefits

  • Competitive total rewards program.
  • Potential incentive eligibility.
  • Salary is commensurate with experience.
