About the position

Are you detail-oriented, eager to learn, and ready to grow in your accounting career? As a Junior Accountant, you’ll be part of our incredible corporate accounting team, playing a key role in keeping ASEC’s financial operations running smoothly.

Responsibilities

  • Recording financial transactions accurately in Deltek Costpoint.
  • Supporting accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash management, and other key financial areas.
  • Performing bank and credit card reconciliations with precision.
  • Assisting with month-end and year-end closing processes.
  • Ensuring compliance with accounting standards, payroll regulations, and tax requirements.
  • Identifying and addressing data discrepancies to maintain financial accuracy.
  • Maintaining clear, professional, and responsive communications with other departments and with accounting and finance departments.
  • Supporting audit requests and compiling information from various regulatory, oversight, or partner agencies and companies.
  • Collaborating with internal teams to streamline processes and boost efficiency.
  • Preparing and recording monthly and yearly journal entries.

Requirements

  • An associate’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related area of study is required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related, preferred.
  • At least one year of formal work or internship experience in the accounting field, desired.
  • Experience using Deltek Costpoint or an alternative financial management system, preferred.
  • Proficient in Excel, including creating new workbooks, maintaining existing ones, and using formulas.
  • Confident navigating the rest of the MS Office suite, including Word, Outlook, and Teams.
  • Able to adhere to deadlines for financial reporting and other accounting tasks.
  • Able to establish and maintain positive relationships with internal and external customers.
  • Possess professional and effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Take a proactive approach to work and able to accomplish tasks with limited guidance and supervision.
  • Demonstrated critical thinking and problem solving skills.
  • Organizational skills to manage competing priorities.
