About the position
As a technical lead substation design engineer at Black & Veatch, you will be responsible for developing electrical design deliverables, including protection and control design and physical design for substations. You will actively participate in management, project scheduling, and work/resource planning meetings, and interface directly with clients, vendors, and subcontractors. Additionally, you will be involved in QA/QC projects and mentor junior engineers. This role is part of BV's Energy & Process business, which focuses on meeting clients' rapidly changing infrastructure needs in the generation, storage, transmission, and distribution of electric power. Responsibilities
- Function as a technical lead substation design engineer.
- Develop electrical design deliverables, including protection and control design and/or physical design.
- Participate in management, project scheduling, and work/resource planning meetings.
- Interface directly with clients, vendors, and subcontractors.
- QA/QC projects and mentor junior engineers.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in engineering from a recognized accredited program.
- Minimum of 5 years related work experience.
- Ability to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements.

- Substation Design experience - Physical and Protection & Controls (P&C).
- Project Lead experience - Leading teams as technical leader/SME and mentor.
- Quality Assurance and Quality Control of substation design projects (QA/QC).
- Professional Engineering (PE) License.
