About the position

This position requires office presence of a minimum of 5 days per week and is only located in the location(s) posted. No relocation is offered. Overall Purpose: Perform comprehensive tax planning, compliance, and reporting functions by analyzing and interpreting tax legislation, ensuring regulatory adherence and strategic tax efficiency to minimize the organization’s legal tax liabilities in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles.

Responsibilities

  • Tax Compliance and Reporting: Transaction Tax and Federal Universal Service Fund (FUSF) Compliance position responsible for monthly and quarterly activities to support annual filings for AT&T entities.
  • Oversee and ensure accurate, timely preparation and submission of all tax returns (federal, state, local, and international).
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable tax laws and manage audits and inquiries from tax authorities.
  • Develop and implement tax strategies aligned with the company’s financial goals.
  • Identify tax-saving opportunities and advise on tax implications of business decisions.
  • Lead tax team, ensuring task delegation and deadline adherence.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and support professional development.
  • Collaborate with finance to integrate tax planning with overall financial strategy.
  • Analyze financial data to forecast tax liabilities and prepare reports for senior management.
  • Develop and maintain tax policies, manage tax software, control tax department budgets, and participate in special projects and strategic initiatives as required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree (BS/BA) desired.
  • 5+ years of related experience.
  • Certification is required in some areas.
