About the position

We are seeking a talented and experienced Commercial HVAC Controls Lead Product Manager to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for the strategic planning, development, and management of our commercial HVAC control products throughout their lifecycle. This role will also have exposure for some unitary product lines such as rooftops and/or splits systems. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, marketing, sales, and customer support, to ensure our product offerings meet market demands and drive customer satisfaction. As a subject matter expert, you will guide product development initiatives, analyze market trends, and champion product enhancements to maintain a competitive edge in the industry. The Lead Product Manager will play a pivotal role in driving the development and success of our product portfolio.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive product strategy and roadmap for our commercial HVAC control systems, aligning with company objectives and market trends.
  • Conduct market research, competitive analysis, and customer feedback analysis to identify product opportunities and drive innovation.
  • Define product requirements, features, and functionality based on market needs and collaborate with engineering teams for product development.
  • Lead the entire product development lifecycle, from concept to launch, ensuring on-time delivery, quality, and cost-effective solutions.
  • Work closely with engineering teams to prioritize development of new features and products.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to create compelling product documentation, including specifications, user manuals, and training materials.
  • Collaborate with marketing teams to develop effective product positioning, messaging, and go-to-market strategies.
  • Support sales teams by providing technical expertise, training, and product knowledge to drive successful product adoption and revenue growth.
  • Conduct product demonstrations, presentations, and customer training sessions to showcase product capabilities and benefits.
  • Gather and analyze customer feedback, market trends, and sales data to make data-driven decisions for product enhancements and improvements.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest trends, technologies, and regulations in the commercial HVAC industry.
  • Identify trends and communicate product line insights while developing action plans to drive business objectives.
  • Attend industry conferences, trade shows, and networking events to build relationships, identify partnership opportunities, and stay ahead of competitors.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field. A Master's degree is a plus.
  • Proven experience 8 years in product management or related experience, preferably in the commercial HVAC or building controls industry.
  • Strong knowledge of commercial HVAC systems, controls, protocols, and industry standards.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and execute successful product strategies and roadmaps.
  • Excellent project management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks, manage deadlines, and deliver results in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams.
  • Proactive, self-motivated, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
