The Packing Lead supports the Supervisor in overseeing daily operations of the Packing department. This role ensures orders are packed accurately, safely, and on schedule, while providing direction and guidance to team members.
Responsibilities
Verify that all orders are packed correctly and meet customer specifications. Address shortages, coordinate with appropriate personnel to locate items, and ensure all documentation is complete.
Assign daily tasks, monitor work quality, and provide coaching to team members. Support onboarding and cross-training to maintain flexibility within the department.
Enforce safety standards and proper use of personal protective equipment. Monitor work areas for hazards and ensure compliance with company policies.
Operate and direct the safe use of forklifts, cranes, and other equipment to move, stage, and load materials. Maintain packing supplies and ensure workstations are orderly.
Act as the point of contact in the Supervisor’s absence by directing workflow, prioritizing orders, and communicating with other departments as needed.
