Minimum Experience:
+ Previous Experience managing or leading teams
+ 6 years of application developer/software engineer experience
+ 3 years experience with Ruby on Rails **OR** other modern web development language(s)
**Previous and current projects in areas such as:**
+ Experience leading and/or Managing software engineering teams
+ Experience leading and/or Managing software engineering projects
+ Experience with large-scale web applications and RESTful APIs
+ Experience with relational database (MySQL) design, operation and development
+ Experience with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Ajax, Amazon Web Services, Google Cloud, etc.
+ Experience and a passion for Linux systems, Apache servers, and open source engineering
+ Experience with Agile/SCRUM development environments
+ Experience with working and coordinating with or within DevOps teams
This role will service global, high-scale business-critical applications and API?s while performing strategic design & architecture, software product maintenance, and complex development of new product features. We are looking for a lead software engineer to join us in solving technical challenges that will put your experience in building scalable applications and REST APIs to the test!
**Responsibilities:**
+ Acts as a team leader for technical project management
+ Able to work independently on more complex projects and acts as a team leader.
+ Coach, direct, and check the work of other Software Engineers.
+ Work in a team environment developing solutions to bolster our core platform and APIs
+ Communicate effectively with internal and external users as needed to support channel integration, development and support
+ Communicates effectively with SCRUM team members and other Product Managers and Engineering staff
+ Coordinates application development with contract developers and other Ingram company developers
+ Delivers task and projects within a specified margin of error
+ Develop creative and innovative solutions for the next generation of educational learning
+ Develops and modifies internal and external facing software as part of an Agile/SCRUM team
+ Engages business partners to reach agreement on decision points
+ Interacts with external clients and technical staff to resolve problems with software and responds to suggestions for improvements and enhancements.
+ Looks for solutions to challenges while adhering to company policies
+ Maintains or acquires an expert level of knowledge relative to the product and applicable business domain
+ Manages difficult conversations with appropriate tact and professionalism
+ New Development and Maintenance of server applications.
+ Provides full application development life cycle support, including research, specifications, prototypes, development, quality assurance and deployment
+ Provides task and project level estimates scoped by available information
+ Support development with appropriate documentation
+ Takes ownership of problems and issues and drives business toward resolution
+ Understands and interacts with the business ecosystem in which the product exists
+ Work on a leading edge platform used by millions of people across the globe
