Relocation assistance may be provided. Zulily Vendor Experience Platform team is looking for outstanding Lead Software Development Engineers. We work in small, independent and agile teams, and collaborate with product managers to implement stuff quickly. We are looking for smart engineers that can have an immediate impact and will take pride in the quality of their code while constantly striving for engineering excellence. Responsibilities * Build the next generation high throughput web services for our core Vendor Experience platform * Work closely with product managers to ensure all features are correctly implemented * Build unit tests along with code, throughly test and debug code & take full ownership of feature development cycle * Build for performance; youre the kind of person who loves performant, scalable and extremely low latency web services * Work with other developers across Zulily and strongly advocate engineering best practices and standardized solutions * Help realize our technical vision and ensure we hit all milestones * Work in agile development environment with short sprints * Actively participate in code reviews and help teammates write better code * Build global, internationalized solutions QUALIFICATIONS * Excellent coding skills and strong grasp of Object Oriented Programming (Java, C++, Python etc.) * Experience building internal and external APIs and RESTful web services * Experience using web servers (Apache, Nginx, Jetty etc) * Experience with relational databases such as MySQL, Postgres or Oracle * Proven ability to find creative solutions, juggle multiple concurrent projects, release rapidly and ship elegant, customer-centric applications * Obsessive about quality, good design and elegant code * Bachelors degree in Computer Science or related field Additional Preferred Qualifications * Experience with non-relational data stores (Redis, Cassandra or Mongo) * Familiarity with Javascript frameworks like AngularJS * Familiarly with cloud compute platform such as Amazon Web Services (AWS) or Google Compute Engine * Familiarity with Docker containers * Side projects (Android or iOS application, personal website etc.) or open source project contributions * Advance degree in Computer Science or related field About You * 8+ years of experience developing software within fast paced environments * Have worked across different levels of the technology stack * Take ownership and bias for action * Have a strong desire to play with and learn new technologies * Have Excellent verbal and written communication skills * Have worked on Agile teams and love the process of continuous improvement * Are Inclined to take smart, informed decisions and lean into problems and their solutions * Have strong passion for engineering excellence!
