About the position

As Lead UI/UX Designer, you will provide a best in class user experience to the market. You will lead critical and highly visible initiatives in building and scaling industry-leading digital applications and experiences for our customers. The ideal candidate will bring significant experience in online retail and be someone who has been involved in comprehensive sales funnel experience. The ideal candidate should have experience taking users from shopping sites on Google or social media and guiding them through the UX for the entire process to checkout. You will be highly motivated, reliable, detailed, and driven to produce high quality work, thriving in a fast-paced environment. You will be responsible for setting and executing the strategy for site experience (user experience and interface design as well as the enterprise design system) for our online sites and mobile apps. You will work with and supervise a team of UX/UI professionals tasked with designing sales-driving and engaging user-centric website experiences that balance business and technology. You will play a strategic role in developing the vision and delivering detailed designs while stewarding the team's work through ideation, approval, and final execution. You will stay current with leading digital experience trends across retail and bring a long-term strategic vision for how we can align with existing and new experience best practices. You will foster a strong problem-solving environment that drives new and unique user experiences, own, evolve, and drive the strategy for Enterprise Design Systems, and ensure a consistent and best-of-breed digital experience for our customers as they journey across channels and touchpoints. You will partner closely with the Director of Interactive, enterprise-wide Product Owners and IT, as well as Marketing and key stakeholders throughout the organization including Merchandising. You will conduct usability tests on our sites, apps, and other channels as requested, establish a strong viewpoint, and stay current on evolving digital user experience standards across retail and other verticals. You will prioritize and drive various work streams and hold both team and external partners accountable for delivery.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Web Design, Web Technology, or related field.
  • 2-3 years of experience in web-based coding, user-centric design systems, and website/application development.
  • 5-7 years of experience in agency or product-related environments designing consumer-facing digital experiences.
  • 2+ years of experience leading and developing others, preferably a team.
  • Expertise in building successful and engaging applications, especially consumer-facing applications.
  • Experience designing mobile-first and responsive web pages.
  • Ability to rapidly generate and produce multiple concepts and solutions.
  • Experience with both qualitative and quantitative testing.
  • Proficiency with design and prototyping software such as Adobe, Sketch, Figma, and Invision.
  • Knowledge of UX best practices and trends.
  • Strong understanding of information hierarchy and typography.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Understanding of how data and qualitative research inform product and design decisions.

Nice-to-haves

  • Advertising Agency experience is a plus.
  • Experience in supervision and directing a team is a plus.
  • Consumer goods experience strongly preferred.
