Legal College Intern

About the position

AAON, Inc. is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented legal intern to join our Risk Management and Legal team in a unique role that provides exposure to in-house corporate law. This internship allows the legal intern hands-on experience working with our internal legal/risk team, outside counsel, and other departments within AAON.

Responsibilities

• Assist in drafting, reviewing, and revising contracts, NDAs, and other corporate agreements.
• Conduct legal research and provide memoranda on corporate governance, regulatory compliance, employment law, and other business-related legal topics.
• Support corporate transactions, including mergers & acquisitions, financing, and corporate structuring.
• Assist with entity management, including filings, resolutions, and corporate recordkeeping.
• Review and analyze policies, procedures, and compliance documents - including insurance policies.
• Attend and summarize meetings with internal stakeholders and outside counsel.
• Gain exposure to litigation strategy, risk management, and regulatory compliance from both in-house and outside counsel perspectives.
• Collaborate with attorneys in house and external to support business operations and legal initiatives.
• Perform other legal and administrative tasks as assigned.

Requirements

• Current law student at the University of Tulsa (Rising 2L or 3L) in good academic standing.
• Strong research, writing, and analytical skills.
• Attention to detail and ability to handle confidential information (Preferred that candidate has taken the MPRE or Professional Responsibility).
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office products.
