This position is for the Quonset Point facility in North Kingstown Rhode Island. Electric Boat is hiring a Logistics Analyst to support the Tool & Wire Room operations at their Quonset Point facility. The Quonset Point environment is major steel fabrication and the Tool Rooms provide tradespersons with the necessary tooling and consumables for welding, ship fitting, pipe fitting, and manufacturing machine operations. This is a fast paced position that will have the candidate interacting with members of the Warehouse/Transportation teams, Rigging, Operations (Steel, Outfitting, small parts manufacturing and assembly), Planning, Engineering and Quality Control. The primary role of the Logistics Analyst is to collect, analyze and interpret data related to Electric Boats supply chain operations, to identify inefficiencies and to recommend improvements to optimize internal processes to reduce cost and enhance the effectiveness of the Tool Room operations so that we can adequately meet our Operational customers’ demands. The Logistic Analyst will work with all levels of management within the Tool Room and Maintenance organization as well as Operations Management to ensure our systems and schedules are aligned. The candidate selected must be highly motivated with strong interpersonal skills. The candidate must be task oriented, able to prioritize workload and be responsible for knowledge transfer. In addition, the individual must have effective problem solving and critical thinking skills and must be able to cultivate and promote a positive TEAM environment. Logistics Analysts must be well versed in either EB Wire/Tool Room control and/or Material Control and management. Candidates must possess knowledge in one area and training will be conducted onsite for the other. Material Control requires knowledge of Material management, inventory policies, warehousing principles and material packaging and handling work practices. The candidate will be required to gather information from business systems and be able to analyze and present findings, effective metrics and PowerPoint presentations so that management can act on the data and recommendations provided.
