About the position

Crown Equipment Corporation is seeking a Logistics Manager to oversee both domestic and international logistics functions. The role involves managing logistics activities, ensuring compliance with import and export laws, and developing employee capabilities within the logistics team. The Logistics Manager will act as a liaison between various stakeholders, audit freight expenses, and continuously improve logistics processes to enhance efficiency and cost-effectiveness.

Responsibilities

  • Provide metrics on claim filing process to ensure claims are filed with logistics providers.
  • Act as a liaison between branches, dealers, customers, and carriers regarding all disputes.
  • Audit and approve freight expenses and budgets.
  • Lead and monitor process improvement to move international freight quicker and more consistently using cost-effective methods.
  • Manage activities of International Logistics group to support negotiation planning, execution, and contract agreements.
  • Monitor pricing, performance, and service agreements/contracts for logistics providers.
  • Manage flow of materials between international manufacturing and supplier locations into and out of North America.
  • Oversee freight requirements, costs, and performance metrics for domestic logistics providers.
  • Provide support to multiple departments on North America shipping needs.
  • Develop and maintain policies, procedures, practices, certifications, and documentation for compliance.
  • Support global supply chain security program participation and surveillance audits.
  • Create/revise job descriptions, conduct Talent Development discussions, and complete annual wage reviews.
  • Prepare department budgets and make visits to suppliers and company locations.

Requirements

  • 8-15 years related experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, or Logistics.
  • Non-degree considered if 12+ years of related experience along with a high school diploma or GED.
  • Must have valid driving privileges.
  • Valid passport.
  • Occasional travel (0-5%) and occasional overnight stays (0-5%).

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience of 10 or more years in domestic and/or international logistics.
  • Knowledge of TMS systems, SAP/ERP systems, with an emphasis on SAP's Transportation Management System (TMS) module.
  • Good communication, organizational, and logistics skills.
