About the position

TransCore (TRN), a subsidiary of ST Engineering, is seeking a full-time Maintenance Manager to join our team in the South Jersey/Philadelphia area. The Maintenance Manager directs the coordination of technical and administrative support activities including installation, repair, and preventative maintenance. This role ensures adequate records and systems are maintained, schedules personnel responding to critical situations, and maintains communication with management and specialists in resolving technical problems. The manager selects, develops, and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function.

Responsibilities

  • Reports and supports system related issues.
  • Provides daily, weekly and monthly reports of activities to the customer and/or management.
  • Assists with equipment and system troubleshooting.
  • Develops a plan to meet customer requirements and communicates the plan to staff.
  • Manages and monitors performance of field support personnel.
  • May develop and maintain departmental budget.
  • Meets with customers and staff periodically to maintain an understanding of service issues and progress.
  • Plans and provides technical training to staff and/or contract personnel to maintain proficiency on system equipment.
  • Monitors and administers company policies.
  • Plans, develops, implements, and evaluates maintenance programs.
  • Develops, implements and monitors local administration practices.
  • Has ownership of all maintenance activities within the assigned region.

Requirements

  • Associate degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school.
  • Typically requires a minimum of 5 years of related experience.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
  • Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
