The position involves completing repairs to all machinery, facilities, and utilities as per work order requests. The individual will prepare and coordinate the completion of work orders for regular maintenance and preventive maintenance (PM) of machines, facilities, and utilities. The role includes logging and tracking specific work functions on production equipment to determine and periodically update an effective preventative maintenance program. Major preventative maintenance related to electrical or mechanical functions is also a key responsibility. The individual will train other mechanics and operators to effectively keep machinery in good working condition and perform all work in a manner consistent with established safety procedures. Additionally, the role requires completing maintenance work orders, reporting work done, parts used, and time spent on each job, as well as filling out daily time sheets regarding tasks performed. The individual will determine items that need to be purchased or replaced, place requisitions with the administrator, and make recommendations for spare parts to be ordered to keep as stock items. Coordination with the maintenance manager regarding details of any repairs, preventive maintenance, or improvements needed on equipment is also required.
