As Manager, for Accounting & Reporting, you will be primarily responsible for managing inventory and cost accounting processes, ensuring accurate transaction recording, compliance with standards and controls, and timely financial report preparation. This role will be based in Fort Worth, TX, you will help lead and guide the team, implementing departmental plans and ensuring team success.

Responsibilities

  • Interacting proactively with functional areas to ensure accurate accounting and that financial reporting is accomplished within prescribed deadlines in accordance with IFRS/Alcon Accounting Manual.
  • Manage the completion and review the calculation, posting, and verification of financial transactions (including any GL activities such as provisions, reconciliations, etc.) as it relates to inventory and cost accounting.
  • Manage the completion and review inventory related account reconciliations and ensuring data integrity.
  • Manage the monthly closing processes for inventory related areas.
  • Reviewing the preparation of inventory related financial statement related reporting needed for both internal and external audiences for accuracy and compliance with standards.
  • Collaborate proactively with key partners, including Finance colleagues, internal and external accounting authorities/auditors, and Regional/Global Financial Reporting and Accounting.
  • Identifying opportunities for efficiency and accuracy improvements.
  • Helping the team meet various KPI targets.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree Equivalent years of directly related experience (or high school +13 yrs; Assoc.+9 yrs; M.S.+2 yrs; PhD+0 yrs)
  • The ability to fluently read, write, understand and communicate in English
  • 5 Years of Relevant Experience

Nice-to-haves

  • CPA/Chartered Accounting strongly preferred
  • Public and Industry accounting experience preferred
  • Comprehensive knowledge of IFRS (GAAP), accounting and financial reporting requirements. Strong analytical skills
  • Significant experience in financial accounting and reporting, auditing and financial process engineering, with record of strong control focus
  • Strong leadership, interpersonal, influencing and management skills
  • Proficient ERP Knowledge (SAP, BI)
  • Solid Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Experience with shared services teams
