The Manager Direct Materials-Category Procurement will direct the sourcing activities for global and regional spend of direct materials categories to achieve supply security, optimized cost and maintain compliance to policies and standards.

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement and monitor procurement strategies to ensure supply security, meet financial and budget objectives and mid to long term category developments.
  • Use knowledge of direct materials and procurement processes to evaluate supply markets and select the best suppliers.
  • Lead negotiations and maintain relationships with suppliers to ensure the best quality, price, and service.
  • Oversee the selection and quality of materials, ensure compliance with PMI and Regulatory standards.
  • Design and implement programs to streamline products and processes to realize productivity by challenging status quo.
  • Review and approve contracts and price lists to ensure accurate documentation and supplier performance measurement.
  • Guide and motivate decentralized procurement team members and stakeholders to foster growth and development.

Requirements

  • Minimum 8 years experience in Purchasing, Planning, Development or Quality Assurance functions, with significant experience in purchasing, product development, and quality management working in a multinational environment.
  • In-depth understanding of the supply market and related service categories.
  • Legally authorized to work in the U.S.
  • A university degree in Business Administration, Economics, or Engineering.
  • Fluency in English.
  • Strong skills in financial analysis.
  • In-depth knowledge of negotiation techniques.
  • Good command of process engineering.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Effective time management.
