The Manager Direct Materials-Category Procurement will direct the sourcing activities for global and regional spend of direct materials categories to achieve supply security, optimized cost and maintain compliance to policies and standards.
Responsibilities
- Design, implement and monitor procurement strategies to ensure supply security, meet financial and budget objectives and mid to long term category developments.
- Use knowledge of direct materials and procurement processes to evaluate supply markets and select the best suppliers.
- Lead negotiations and maintain relationships with suppliers to ensure the best quality, price, and service.
- Oversee the selection and quality of materials, ensure compliance with PMI and Regulatory standards.
- Design and implement programs to streamline products and processes to realize productivity by challenging status quo.
- Review and approve contracts and price lists to ensure accurate documentation and supplier performance measurement.
- Guide and motivate decentralized procurement team members and stakeholders to foster growth and development.
Requirements
- Minimum 8 years experience in Purchasing, Planning, Development or Quality Assurance functions, with significant experience in purchasing, product development, and quality management working in a multinational environment.
- In-depth understanding of the supply market and related service categories.
- Legally authorized to work in the U.S.
- A university degree in Business Administration, Economics, or Engineering.
- Fluency in English.
- Strong skills in financial analysis.
- In-depth knowledge of negotiation techniques.
- Good command of process engineering.
- Strong project management skills.
- Effective time management.
